Carlton has its eyes on yet another GWS Giants product with out-of-contract midfielder Matthew Kennedy on its wishlist for the upcoming trade period.

After 16 games in 2017, Kennedy was dropped for the round 22 clash against West Coast and is in a fight to retain his spot for finals.

He remains one of two players from the first round of the 2015 National Draft out of contract, teammate Jacob Hopper the other.

While Carlton remains interested in Hopper’s services for 2018 along with Geelong, it is seen that Hopper is more likely to stay than depart.

Such a move would see Collingullie product Kennedy in a scrap for key midfield minutes next season, something he would be guaranteed at the Blues.

Blues list boss Stephen Silvagni has already assembled former Giants Jed Lamb, Liam Sumner, Caleb Marchbank, Andrew Phillips, Jarrod Pickett, Lachie Plowman, Kristian Jaksch and Rhys Palmer together at IKON Park.
