The Gold Coast Suns should be concerned heading into the October trade period.
That is the opinion of NAB AFL Trade Radio’s Mitch Cleary and Kane Cornes who believe there is some uncertainty surrounding the Suns co-captain.
24-year-old Lynch, contracted until 2018, is yet to pledge his allegiance to the club beyond his current deal which is a cause for concern.
“I think this is a bigger concern than Gary Ablett,” said Cleary.
“This is Gold Coast Suns’ major concern going into next year.
“Their co-captain - we know Steven May had a look around elsewhere - and Tom Lynch beyond 2018 is yet to commit his future.
“Right now, the Suns would be a little nervous heading into trade period.”
Cornes added: “They would be.
“But you can understand he’s not willing to commit his long-term future when there’s no coach in place yet.
“So just let the dust settle, let them appoint a coach, and let’s see in February-March if he’s still not willing to commit then I’d be seriously nervous if I was the Gold Coast Suns.”
