Jake Lever has requested a trade from the Adelaide Crows.
The 21-year-old defender formally handed in the transfer request today as he seeks a return to Victoria.
An Adelaide Football Club statement read: “Jake Lever has informed the Adelaide Football Club that he wishes to join a Victorian football club in 2018."
The Club's Head of Football, Brett Burton, said the Crows are extremely disappointed with Lever’s decision and will now consider all its options.
“Our members and supporters should rest assured that we will make decisions that are in the best interests of our football club first and foremost,” Burton said.
Melbourne are the most likely suitors for Lever, who is expected to nominated the Demons as his preferred destination, while Collingwood have also been credited with an interest.
Lever was selected by the Crows with pick 14 in the 2014 draft and has played 56 matches for the South Australian club.
