Collingwood and St Kilda are in the mix for GWS midfielder Devon Smith, says player manager Ned Guy.

Guy, who manages Smith, said the two teams were in the mix alongside Carlton and Essendon who have been interested for quite a while.

“There are a couple of others that we’re working through. He has some interest from Collingwood and St Kilda,” Guy said on NAB Trade Radio.

Guy said some of the factors Smith was considering included a club’s medical facilities and the quality of their injury rehab programs.

Smith missed out on a finals series with the Giants in part because of an ongoing knee injury.

“A big (factor) for Devon is player management and how the club manages rehab, he’s just assessing everything in the club as a whole,” Guy said.

The player manager also put a timeframe on when they expect Smith to nominate a club.

“We’re hoping by the end of this week, if not early next week so we can move pretty quickly on that,” Guy said.

Guy also gave an update on Adelaide midfielder Rory Sloane who he said “fully expects” to be at the Crows long term, despite speculation he may want to return to Victoria.
