Harley Bennell’s football career is at the crossroads following his latest indiscretion.
The Fremantle midfielder was involved in an altercation with security at a Fremantle nightclub on Sunday night and subsequently failed to turn up to Dockers training the next day.
As a result, 25-year-old Bennell has been banished to WAFL club Peel Thunder for two months and has copped a $15,000 fine, further clouding an already troubled AFL career.

Former Crows utility Jameson also suggested that he would sever ties with Bennell if he were in the position of Dockers coach Ross Lyon.
“I think you’d almost cut it now,” said Jameson on Sportsday SA.
“The challenge for me would be how is he going to integrate back into the group. He’s given up 2 or 3 chances now.
“He was boozing on a Gold Coast flight last year, he had an issue in the WAFL. So he’s got that, he’s done this, he’s had his injuries and his other challenges outside of that so he’s probably had enough of them (chances).
“He is in an environment now where you just don’t tolerate it and you can’t because of the culture you hang your hat on, but Ross is a strong man so it’s going to be difficult….”
In conclusion, Jameson added: “Experience shows he’s done it 2,3,4 times before so I’d probably say move on.”
