Gold Coast Suns coach Stuart Dew is confident the club can hang onto one of their most powerful players.

Co-captain Tom Lynch is out of contract at the end of 2018 and reportedly attracting strong interest from Collingwood.

Asked about the Suns future of the talented 25-year-old forward, Port Adelaide and Hawthorn premiership player Dew suggested that achieving success on the Gold Coast would make any decision easy.

“Now (with) contracts, he won’t make a call whether it’s midway or at the end of the season,” he said on Sportsday SA.

“We are certainly not putting any timeframe on it. We’ve actually got other things to worry about.

“All I can worry about is trying to create a good environment and get some success with the footy club and that should hopefully sway his decision.”

Dew added: “Personally, man to man, I’m not going to ask him about his contract. We’re trying to get ready for the season and busier on other things.”
