Adam Cooney wonders how the St Kilda Football Club will go about replacing Nick Riewoldt.

The Saints champion retired last year after 336 games, 718 goals, six Best & Fairests and five All-Australians across 17 seasons.

Former Western Bulldogs and Essendon midfielder Cooney wonders who will fill the gaping void left by Riewoldt in 2018 and beyond.

“How do the Saints back-up without Nick Riewoldt there?” he said on SEN Afternoons.

“The big one is Paddy McCartin, Josh Bruce was inconsistent last season, but he has a lot of potential, but I think the Saints were a little bit disappointed with his defensive efforts last year.

“Tim Membrey is the third tall forward. Can those three players produce?”
