Don Pyke will not bow to following trends with his Adelaide Crows forward line.

The last two premiers – Western Bulldogs and Richmond – have won the flag with much smaller forward lines than usual but Pyke is not about to revamp his attack in a bid to follow this successful blueprint.

Instead, the Crows coach is planning to stick with the powerful group he has up forward including Taylor Walker, Josh Jenkins, Mitch McGovern, Tom Lynch and sublime small forward Eddie Betts in 2018.

“One of our great strengths is the capacity of our forward line,” he said on Sportsday SA.

“Like the rest of us, they are working to get better in areas as well.

“We’ve got not only some high-end talent in there, we’ve got some guys who have got some great connection between each other as well because they have played a fair bit of footy together.

“But we’ll keep assessing what’s the best mix. With Charlie (Cameron) leaving we’ve got an opportunity for a Jordan Gallucci or Riley Knight.

“There’s potential for our mids to spend some genuine time forward.

“But our forward line has been very good and I expect them to continue to be very good.”
