James Hird has been approached by the Fremantle Football Club regarding a role in the football department.
SEN news breaker Sam McClure revealed on KB & the Doc this afternoon that Dockers coach Ross Lyon has made contact with the champion former Essendon captain and coach.
“I can reveal to you that Ross Lyon has approached James Hird about a role at the Fremantle Football Club this season,” McClure said.
“The details of the role itself are sketchy at the moment but I believe it to be a role in the football department.
“The Fremantle Football Club have contacted the AFL directly to seek a tick of approval and from quite a high position, we’ve been told there is no standing in their way from an AFL perspective.”
Hird, who is yet to accept the role, is still considering the approach from the Dockers.
