Sydney and their local rivals GWS duked it out at the SCG tonight.
It is a rivalry that is growing each time the two clubs clash and it did not disappoint at all, with the Swans coming away with a hard-fought 16-point win.
The Moment: Buddy goes bang!
It is tough to describe how Lance ‘Buddy’ Franklin snubbed out any hope of a Giants comeback in the last quarter.
The star forward had been contained to a degree by Phil Davis before he exploded with a massive bomb from well outside 50.
It’s easier to just show you…

The Star(s): Sinclair shines, Mills lands medal for Swans
Callum Sinclair made the most of Rory Lobb’s injury and his dominance in the ruck proved differential.
The former Caulfield Grammarian finished with a colossal 45 hitouts, six clearances and three vital goals, including a massive clunk and cool finish in the third quarter.
Sinclair managed to get the better of Lobb, then Jon Patton, with his hitouts to advantage benefitting enormously the Swans midfielders.
Rising Star winner Callum Mills was named the Brett Kirk Medallist on the night for his courageous performance.
Mills had 26 possessions, six marks, eight rebound 50s and three inside 50s.

The Young Gun: Hayward provides the goods
Will Hayward was vital for the Swans in the third term.
He kicked two goals in quick succession which gave his side a handy break and finished with 18 touches, nine marks and four inside 50s.
Hayward continues to grow as a key player for Sydney, fitting in nicely to John Longmire’s setup.
The Medical Room: Lobb knee a worry for GWS
As mentioned previously, Giants big man Lobb suffered a knee injury early and struggled throughout the night.
GWS will be sweating on the assessment and likely scans for Lobb who has taken the mantle as the side’s number one ruckman from Shane Mumford.
Rory Lobb had to be helped from the field following this ruck contest.
