Former Port Adelaide premiership player Kane Cornes is very worried about how St Kilda could be travelling come the end of the season.
Cornes has looked through their fixture and while he thinks they’ll get a few wins, he isn’t sure when they’ll come.
“Without being dramatic, if you looked at their draw, you could go to Round 17 and you wouldn’t tip them once,” Cornes told the AFL Nation pre-game show.
“I’m not saying they won’t win, but looking through their draw it’s hard to see them winning a game until Round 17.
“You wouldn’t tip them to win any game until Carlton, now they’ll win four or five perhaps, but it’s not easy for them.”
Premiership coach Malcolm Blight isn’t ready to make such a call and wants to see a bit more footy from the Saints.
“After seven or eight rounds you can get a bit of a feel, once you’ve seen them play teams inside the top eight last year compared to teams outside, I think in round seven or eight you get a good feel for it,” Blight said.
The Saints will take on the Cats in Geelong on Sunday afternoon.
