Is Kennedy a more complete player than Buddy Franklin?

Former West Coast forward Scott Cummings believes Eagles spearhead Josh Kennedy could quite possibly be a more rounded player than Sydney star Lance Franklin.

Kennedy made a succesful return to footy on Saturday night, booting five goals in the Eagles’ 80-point win over the Gold Cost Suns.

When posed the question on who he would prefer in his side right now, Cummings leaned towards the big Eagle.

“When you compare the two and ask yourself who you would want in your side right now, in the past it would have been Buddy all day everyday,” Cummings said on Footy WA.

“There is now an absolute argument for JK that he is more of a complete player than Buddy Franklin. If the ball is on the ground I’d have JK and in the air I would probably have JK.

“Buddy’s a freak and we probably won’t see the like of him again, but there’s an argument for JK to be in that bracket.”

Franklin has had a fair start to the year himself as he currently sits at the top of the goalkickers charts with 17 in his first four outings.

‘Buddy’ has 877 goals in 275 games while Kennedy’s numbers read 524 goals in 208 games.
