North Melbourne have tabled a massive offer to lure out-of-contract Collingwood forward Jordan De Goey to Arden Street.
According to The Age and The Herald Sun, North have offered De Goey a five-year contract worth $1 million a season, as the Magpies continue their attempts to tie down the 22-year-old to a new deal.
De Goey’s manager Ben Niall has said that his priority is getting a deal done with the Pies, but insisted that a club could come to him with an offer that would be difficult to turn down.
This reported mega offer by the Roos will test the resolve of the Collingwood hierarchy, who are scrambling to secure the signature of the Pies star, as contract talks continue between the two parties.
It’s been a break out season for De Goey, who has shown he could be a future star of the competition with his match winning capabilities.
The Kangaroos have acquired the services of former Collingwod head of football Graeme ‘Gubby’ Allan in order to assist the club in negotiating deals for out-of-contract stars like De Goey.
St Kilda are also interested in signing the young forward.
