Gawn moving into the elite category

Max Gawn continues to show he could be one of the most important players in the competition as he led the Demons to a 54-point win over Fremantle at TIO Stadium.

In what has been a year that’s seen almost the return of the elite ruckman, with Gawn, Brodie Grundy and Nic Naitanui all in full flight, Gawn is likely in the lead in the All-Australian race right now.

He could even be in Brownlow contention.

He won 42 hit outs, took six marks and kicked a goal against the Dockers and could’ve had another one if he kicked straight.

That performance makes him our Simonds Homes Stats Man for this round of footy.
