Matthew Lloyd has asked the question why wouldn’t Sydney have a “red hot go” at trying to acquire Dylan Shiel, after a hint from former Port Adelaide coach Mark Williams.
Shiel’s long-term partner is Williams’ daughter, and over the weekend Mark explained how much the pair loves Sydney.
“Dylan is a career footballer,” Williams said on Footy SA.
“He is certainly one that wants to be part of winning culture and winning clubs. He is really enjoying his time at GWS.
“He and my daughter certainly want to stay up there.”
Those comments made Lloyd float the idea of Shiel potentially switching Sydney clubs.
“He said he loves it in Sydney but a salary cap squeeze is on at the Giants,” he told Footy Classified.
“Why wouldn’t the Sydney Swans have a red hot go at getting Dylan Shiel.”
It is set to be a busy trade period for the Swans, after the club confirmed Dan Hannebery and Gary Rohan want to come back to Victoria.
Jake Lloyd, Nic Newman and Luke Parker have also been mentioned in the rumour mill.
