AFL games record holder Brent Harvey finds it “staggering” that GWS defender Jeremy Finlayson could be traded just weeks after signing a contract extension.
Finlayson inked a two-year deal back in June, tying him to the Giants until the end of 2020.
A report has emerged stating that the 22-year-old’s management has met with North about a potential trade.
“I just find it staggering how you can sign eight weeks ago and then ask for a trade,” Harvey told NAB AFL Trade Radio.
“I don’t understand it.
“What’s changed in that eight weeks?”
TUNE IN to NAB AFL Trade Radio:
North great Harvey says the potential arrival of Finlayson would address a key weakness in the Roos’ defence.
“I think North Melbourne lack a little bit of ball use out of the backline,” he added.
“Robbie Tarrant, Scott Thompson, Majak Daw, Marley Williams – they aren’t known for their kicking.
“Scotty Thompson would have one more year I’m tipping, I hope he has another three, I think he’s a fantastic player and a person.
“Finlayson would slot in straight there.”
Finlayson has played 15 games for the Giants, with 14 of them coming in 2018.
