Garry Lyon has heaped praise on the way West Coast’s Andrew Gaff handled his re-signing with the Eagles.
Gaff’s decision was announced yesterday, despite some expecting he would make his intentions known at last Friday night’s best and fairest.
However, West Coast released the news yesterday, with Gaff committing to the premiers for 2019 and beyond.
“I love the fact that Andrew Gaff didn’t use the best and fairest as the vehicle for him to stand up and say, look it’s been tough everyone, but I’m staying,” Lyon told SEN Breakfast.
“I reckon that speaks volumes about that bloke.
“He let Elliot Yeo have his moment, he let the other winners have their moment, celebrate the premiership, he takes the focus off himself.
“Then the next day he says he is staying. That’s a real class act.”
