Brisbane General Manager of Football, David Noble, is confident the club can complete a deal with Fremantle for star midfielder Lachie Neale.

Neale, 25, is contracted with the Dockers until the end of 2019, but has been heavily linked with a move to the Lions after reportedly meeting with coach Chris Fagan.

Noble revealed the two-time Best and Fairest winner has expressed his desire to join Brisbane during the trade period and that the Lions will do everything in their power to get the deal done.

“We’ll have another chat with Fremantle in the coming days, we’re hopeful,” Noble told SEN Breakfast.

“He’s clearly indicated that he wants to come to us and that’s great for us.

“We understand and respect that he’s in contract and they would like to keep him, but we’ll do everything we can to get the deal done.

“We’ll do everything we can to get him to our club. I think our fans would want us to get a player of that calibre to our club would be fantastic and exciting for us.

“We’re confident that we feel we can get a deal done.”
