North Melbourne have been one of the more aggressive clubs in terms of free agency over recent years, with their pursuit of numerous big name players well publicised.
The Roos have brought in Port Adelaide duo Jared Polec and Jasper Pittard this offseason, while they’re also close to securing Dom Tyson and Aaron Hall.
While seeing North’s recruits as a win for the club, Garry Lyon has warned fans to ‘temper their excitement’ a little, as he believes there are still some knocks on those players.

“Of that group, Polec is an absolute tick and lock,” said Lyon on SEN Breakfast.
“Pittard, Hall, Tyson have all got some knocks on them.
“So I’m glad North are being aggressive, but it’s not like they got three stone cold, walk up start, best 18 players there.”
The former Melbourne captain sees some similarities to Port Adelaide’s recruits from last season when Jack Watts, Steven Motlop and Tom Rockliff all joined the Power, all three of which failed to make a significant impact.
“Similar because you had Watts, Motlop and Rockliff,” said Lyon.
“Watts had been dropped during the year, Tyson’s been dropped, Hall’s been dropped.
“These players have been dropped from their own sides, that’s all I’m saying.
“The excitement is great, the buzz is good, but temper it somewhat.”
