Carlton has officially acquired Mitch McGovern from Adelaide in a three-way deal, which also involves Sydney.

The Crows receive pick 13, a future fifth-round pick from the Blues and state-league player Shane McAdam, while the Swans now hold picks 26, 28 and 40 in this year’s draft.

Carlton also gained a future third-round selection in the agreement.

“The top-end talent in this year’s draft is considered to be the best in a long time so to bring in pick 13, as well as a player like Shane McAdam who we and many others in the industry rate very highly, is a great result,” Crows list manager Justin Reid said.

“We believe Shane can have a real impact at AFL level and he complements what our other forwards already offer, and we head to the draft confident of bringing in some more elite young talent.”

McGovern played just 12 games this season, kicking 15 goals in those appearances.

McAdam kicked 31 goals in 17 games for SANFL side Sturt this year.
