Brisbane Lions coach Chris Fagan believes veteran Luke Hodge is a “natural coach” in the making.
Hodge, 34, is contracted at the Lions for another year and looks set to go around for an 18th season.
Fagan is convinced that the four-time Hawthorn premiership player has the appropriate people skills and football knowledge to be a successful coach if he chose to go down that path.
“I think he’s trying to work out what it is that he wants to do (after football),” Fagan told SEN Afternoons.
“He’s certainly a natural coach.
“If he chose to go down that pathway, I’m sure he would be really successful with it.

“He gets on so well with people, he knows so much about the game and he’s been through a lot of things himself so he understands adversity and all the challenges that come with AFL footy.
“He’s a bit of natural at it and I think if he decided to go down that pathway that doors will open up for him.”
Hodge was a strong contributor for Brisbane in his first season at the club, playing 19 games and providing valuable leadership both on and off the field.
