Braydon Preuss has been traded to Melbourne in exchange for midfielder Dom Tyson.
The Demons also receive pick 62 in the agreement.
“Braydon is a mature body and he’s physically ready to play AFL football,” Melbourne footy boss Josh Mahoney told the club’s website.
“He has chosen Melbourne so that he can play with, and learn, under Max (Gawn), and our ruck coach, Greg Stafford, which is a good sign of the program we have at the club.
“Max was very keen to get Braydon on board, for both of their benefits. Through competitive work at training, they both believe they are going to improve as players.
“We look forward to Braydon’s development.”
Tyson played in 17 games for the Dees this season, averaging 20 disposals per game.
“Dom is a proven ball winner who averages 22 disposals a game and his clearance work is a real strength,” Roos footy boss Cameron Joyce said.
“We’re really happy to be adding a player of his calibre to our club.”
Preuss failed to make a senior appearance for the Kangaroos in 2018.
