St Kilda has asked the question of Tom Scully’s management, but concede they’re a long shot in acquiring their services.
Scully has had a medical with Hawthorn, with the 27-year-old keen to return home to Victoria.
However, it seems unlikely he will join the Saints.
“We have sounded out his management,” St Kilda list manager James Gallagher told Macquarie Sport Radio.
“It’s been well documented we lack a bit of real outside run and running prowess. Add to that his finishing ability and overall ability as a footballer and I think that he’d be an outstanding fit.
“Having said that, Tom has made it pretty clear to his management that there’s only a couple of clubs that he’d be interested in going to and it’s those, in his opinion, that are closest to a premiership.
“That’s OK, but if that changes we’d certainly be open to having a conversation with Tom.”
