Silvagni “thrilled” to have Setterfield join Blues

Carlton list boss Stephen Silvagni has expanded on the attributes Will Setterfield brings to the Blues.

Carlton secured Setterfield’s services today, along with pick 71, while giving up pick 43 and a future second round pick to Greater Western Sydney.

“He is a tall inside mid, he is hybrid, he can play inside and outside,” Silvagni told NAB AFL Trade Radio.

“He runs really well and has really good hands and can kick a goal.

“We have given up a couple of selections for him but we are thrilled to have Will on board.”

Setterfield didn’t play a game this season due to an ACL injury, however Silvagni confirmed he will be in full training after Christmas, with plenty of time to be declared fit for Round 1.

Happy with how quick Carlton got all this done. Settlefield McGovern and Fasolo all now Blues plus pick 1 and hopefully Sam Walsh in the bag and all by Friday night. Better than the normal sweating it out with no players in and 5 minutes to go. Bring on 2019 and the start of the rise of the Blues.
