Bartlett: AFL has handed Richmond 2019 flag

Richmond legend Kevin Bartlett believes the AFL has already handed his old club the 2019 premiership, given the fixture the Tigers have been handed.

Champion Data has ranked Richmond’s draw as the 13th hardest and Bartlett is confident Punt Road is getting another flag.

“I can’t explain (why Richmond’s fixture is so easy), but I said when the draw came out that the AFL has handed Richmond the premiership in 2019,” Bartlett told SEN’s KB and the Doc.

“I can’t explain it, all I know is it’s a beautiful thing for the Richmond Football Club. They’ve handed the flag to the Tigers in 2019.

“They play their last seven games of the season at the MCG and we’ve got a draw that’s easier than what Carlton who’s on the bottom of the ladder and can’t win a game.

“We’ve just got to work out who’s going to unfurl the flag.”

Bartlett’s co-host John ‘Doc’ Rothfield is hoping things don’t quite go as planned.

“You just keep talking like that and it’ll bite you on the backside,” he said.
