Tim Watson has urged Fremantle to recall Jesse Hogan for this weekend’s match against Gold Coast.
The Dockers hammered North Melbourne by 82 points in Round 1 without Hogan, who was stood down for a mental health-related alcohol issue in the lead up to the season opener.
Despite kicking their highest score (141) since 2016 against the Roos, Watson believes the club’s prized recruit should return to the side, assuming he passes the appropriate medical tests.
“I would (play Hogan), but it’s a health issue with him, though,” the Essendon great told SEN Breakfast.
“As long as the medical people at the football club are satisfied that he is in a fit state to play, then I would play him.
“Based on the fact that Jesse Hogan potentially is better than any other forward that they’ve got in their forward line.
“You don’t just kick 140 points because of the forwards, you get 140 points because of your backline and your midfield that’s moving the ball forward quickly.”
