McDonald receives Tribunal verdict after challenging striking charge

North Melbourne defender Luke McDonald has not beaten his one-match ban for striking Adelaide’s Chayce Jones.

McDonald arrived late to a marking contest, leaving Jones out for the remainder of the game with concussion.

MRO Michael Christian graded it was careless, medium impact and high contact.

The AFL Tribunal upheld that decision, agreeing with the medium impact ruling.

McDonald will now miss North Melbourne’s Good Friday clash with Essendon.
