Gray issues update on broken hand

Port Adelaide star forward/midfielder Robbie Gray says he will not play for the Power on Sunday, as he recovers from a broken hand.

Gray has been on the sidelines since Round 6 and shut down hopes of an early return.

The Power veteran says he is hoping to make a comeback for Port Adelaide’s Round 10 clash against Hawthorn.

“Best case scenario, I would’ve got back a little bit earlier but like I said, I’ve never really had a broken hand, you never really know how these things are going to pull up and hands are pretty important obviously on game day,” he told SEN SA Breakfast.

“I’ll have a little run around this morning and do a bit more touch and like I said, get ready for next week hopefully.

“When we sat down, it was going to be a month. It’s good just to give a rest to the body and a freshen up as well.”

The Power will aim to bounce back from their Showdown loss when they take on the Gold Coast Suns at Adelaide Oval on Sunday.
