Former Herald Sun journalist Mike Sheahan has suggested that Carlton is not the most disappointing team this year.
"I submit that the most disappointing team of 2019 is not Carlton, it is North Melbourne," he told SEN Breakfast.
The Kangaroos are sitting 17th on the ladder with just two wins from nine games, with a percentage of 82.
Sheahan believes people aren’t scrutinising North Melbourne as harshly because of Carlton’s larger supporter base.
“I think if more people cared about North, they’d be the team under the scrutiny,” he said.
“If you’re not a diehard North supporter, the care factor is minimal.”
Sheahan admits he’s unsure of what lies ahead for the Kangaroos.
“North’s form this year is deplorable,” he said.
“This is a team that won 12 games last year. This list is too good to be playing the football they’re playing.
“I don’t know where they’re headed. It is clearly a wasted year now and it’s going to do some damage.”
The Kangaroos will aim to bounce back from its seven-point loss against Sydney when they face the Western Bulldogs on Saturday.
