A dominant second-half has seen GWS overpower North Melbourne by 23 points at Blundstone Arena in Hobart.

The Giants held sway after half-time, keeping the Kangaroos goalless until the final two minutes in a defensive display that would have delighted coach Leon Cameron.

In what was a fiery clash, the Roos were ultra-competitive in the first half, but were ultimately outclassed by a GWS side who temporarily climb to second on the AFL ladder.

Here’s everything you need to know!

The Star: Josh Kelly

Josh Kelly reminded North Melbourne what they’re missing out on with a classy midfield display.

After an injury-interrupted start to the season, Kelly has hit a rich vein of form for GWS over the last five weeks, averaging 34.2 touches per game in that period.

The star midfielder collected a game-high 35 disposals, six clearances, seven tackles, four inside 50s, four defensive rebounds and two goal assists in an eye-catching performance against the Roos.

Kelly had to chance to join North Melbourne, but opted to rebuff a reported multi-million dollar offer to recommit to the Giants for a further two years.

What’s next?

Both clubs have the bye next week. The following week North Melbourne face Collingwood at Marvel Stadium on Saturday June 29. GWS clash with Essendon at the same venue in a Thursday night blockbuster on June 27.
