Wallace breaks down how St Kilda has done Richardson no favours with fixturing

Terry Wallace is frustrated for St Kilda coach Alan Richardson, who has had to play his last two games in Shanghai and Townsville respectively.

The Saints were battered with sickness and a serious injury to captain Jarryn Geary over in China before heading into the bye. They then had to travel north to Townsville to take on Gold Coast.

They came from behind to beat the Suns, but the former Western Bulldogs coach says the club put Richardson in a terrible position.

“It would have done my head in completely as I’m sure it did to Richardson when they were 31 points down,” Wallace told SEN Afternoons.

“That is just a disaster.

"We don’t know whether the club were looking at him, but the feel from the outside was that the microscope was on so he would’ve been shaking his head.”

Both games were played in hot conditions and it will be interesting to see how the Saints back up against Brisbane at Marvel Stadium this weekend.

The Saints still have to travel to Tasmania, Geelong, Adelaide and Sydney in the second half of 2019.
