Dal Santo “shocked” by Brisbane’s top four position

Three-time All-Australian Nick Dal Santo admits he is shocked by Brisbane’s rise into the top four.

The Lions upset GWS last Sunday to jump into fourth spot and look almost certain to play finals for the first time since 2009.

“They have surprised me. But for them to be in fourth position after Round 16, that has definitely shocked me, Dal Santo told SEN Breakfast.

“I don’t think the Giants played overly well but it was another challenge at another venue.

“The more wins they can get away from home. It’s another tick.”

The former St Kilda and North Melbourne star praised the attacking style of football Brisbane are playing under coach Chris Fagan.

“I’m loving the way they’re playing their footy,” Dal Santo added.

“They’re attacking, they’re enjoyable to watch, and they’ve got dangerous forwards. I love what they’re doing.

“They’ve got a hard edge about them, they’ll fight the fight, but they also have polish and excitement.

“I like the balance of the team. They’re not the biggest names. As a collective, they’re ticking a lot of boxes.”

Brisbane face another tough away assignment against Port Adelaide on Sunday.
