Collingwood defender John Noble is set to be the third player picked up in the mid-season rookie draft to debut.
He has be named to take on West Coast on Friday night and teammate and fellow defender Jeremy Howe believes Pies fans should be excited about him.
“It’s an amazing turnaround from stacking shelves in an IGA to being at Collingwood for what feels like a week to playing,” he told SEN Afternoons.
“He was playing at a standard in the VFL that was a level above and to his credit he’s earned his spot and we’re really excited.
“He’s got pace to burn, he’s an aggressive ball-user and that’s something we’re going to get some benefits from.
“He provides plenty of energy with the way that he plays and he defends really well, but he likes to get his hands on the footy and uses it well out of the backline. I’m expecting big things.”
West Adelaide coach in the SANFL Gavin Colville, coached Noble before he was picked up by the Pies and outlined what he’s best at.
“We predominantly used John on a wing and half forward, I understand he’s played across half back with Collingwood, John just plays really well as that link player,” he told SEN Mornings.
“Not only is he able to get in good spots, but he hits the ball at pace and has an ability to do that.
“I’d expect they’ll use him on the outside to get that run and carry.”
