Carlton mid-season draftee Josh Deluca will debut for the Blues on Saturday against the Gold Coast Suns.
Deluca was taken from WAFL club Subiaco with pick No. 1 in the mid-season draft and has been applying his craft in the VFL, averaging 21 disposals and five tackles.
Coach David Teague confirmed that he would come into the side for an ill Paddy Dow.
"Josh brings workrate," he told reporters.
"The way he has come in and wanted to learn his craft… he has spent more time in the coaches' office than any other player.
"When he arrived he couldn't play because of his hamstring, but he wanted to know what are the set-ups.
“Forward, midfield, both roles, asked every week 'what line do you want me to go to?
"He is prepared. He is ready to go."
The Blues will be aiming for back-to-back wins when they run out onto Marvel Stadium to face the Suns on Saturday.
