Simon Garlick has been appointed Fremantle’s new chief executive officer.

Garlick replaces Steve Rosich who was removed from his post along with former senior coach Ross Lyon in August.

The 44-year-old was the CEO at the Western Bulldogs between 2010 and 2015 and is the current CEO Bastion EBA, an independent marketing, communications and commercial agency.

Garlick played a collective total of 181 games for the Bulldogs and Sydney in a decade-long career.

“This club has so much potential,” Garlick told

“While the Fremantle Football Club has a relatively short history in the AFL, the region is one of the richest football areas in Australia and the club’s supporter base is as significant as it is passionate.

“The foundations have been laid by some great football people, and not just with regard to the history of the club. Fremantle play in a world class venue at Optus Stadium and the facilities at Cockburn are outstanding.”

Fremantle named Justin Longmuir as its new senior coach in late September on a three-year deal.
