Young Carlton midfielder Liam Stocker has extended his contract with the club for an additional two years.

The 19-year-old is now tied to the club through to the end of 2022.

Taken with pick 19 in the 2019 National Draft, the Blues took a gamble on Stocker, trading away their future-first round pick to Adelaide as part of the deal to acquire him.

They got back the Crows’ first rounder as part of the deal, with the trade ending up: Stocker and pick nine for pick four.

The youngster impressed for the Blues despite an injury interrupted year, playing five games.

He spent the majority of his first year playing in defence, with Carlton looking to develop him across multiple roles. He will likely spend the majority of his career as an inside midfielder.
