Jack Martin has officially joined the Carlton Football Club.

The 24-year-old midfielder/forward has joined the Blues via the AFL Pre-Season Draft after coming out of contract at the Gold Coast Suns.

Carlton and the Suns were unable to execute a deal during the trade period but the Blues have managed to sign their man.

“We are really happy to welcome Jack to our club: he has tremendous talent but more importantly a determination to make the most of that talent and be part of a successful side here at Carlton,” list manager Stephen Silvagni told carltonfc.com.au.

“He will strengthen our forward line and also has the ability to play through the midfield and down back which will be a real asset for us.

“At 24 years of age and with 97 games of AFL experience under his belt, bringing Jack to the football club perfectly aligns with the list management strategy we have committed to over the last few years.

“We believe Jack will be able to have an immediate impact at Ikon Park from day one of pre-season and we look forward to seeing him excite the Carlton faithful for many years to come.”

Martin, who was taken with pick 1 in the 2012 mini-draft, played 97 games and kicked 81 goals across six seasons with the Suns.
