Stephen Coniglio will today be unveiled as captain of the Greater Western Sydney Giants.
SEN’s Sam McClure is reporting in The Age that the star midfielder will take over from Phil Davis and Callan Ward who have been co-captains of the Giants since the club’s inception in 2012.
Stephen Coniglio – the man who turned down mammoth offers from Carlton and Hawthorn – is the new captain of GWS.

Coniglio was the target of big-money offers from both Carlton and Hawthorn during the year but opted to remain with GWS by signing a massive seven-year deal. He missed the club’s finals series after injuring his knee in round 17.
The Giants are set to make the announcement after midday today (AEDT).
