Geelong rookie Stefan Okunbor will undergo surgery on a ruptured Achilles tendon that is expected to sideline him for an extended period.
Okunbor, 21, sustained the injury in training on Wednesday and will go under the knife on Sunday.
The Irishman is a Category B rookie at the Cats and played eight VFL games in 2019.
Okunbor joined Geelong in 2018 from County Kerry in Ireland and is yet to make his AFL debut.
Geelong travel to Gold Coast to face the Suns in their opening Marsh Community Series match at Metricon Stadium.
