Port Adelaide’s Robbie Gray has named a pair of All-Stars he would be more than happy to swap State of Origin guernseys with next week.
The Power star will suit up for Victoria in the Bushfire Relief match against the best of all other states (and internationals) at Marvel Stadium on Friday night.
When the final siren sounds, there will be opportunity to swap jumpers with opposing competitors and if Gray chooses to part with his ‘Big V’, he has a gun Blues midfielder and fellow small forward from the Lions in mind.
“I’m pretty happy with a Vic one but if I was to (swap)…,” he said on SEN SA Breakfast.
“I admire the way Patrick Cripps goes about it. He’s just a beast.
“I like Charlie Cameron’s work up in Brisbane. (Former) Adelaide boy now back in Brisbane.
“He’s been super impressive so maybe one of those guys if they were good enough to do it.”
Gray is one of two Power players selected for the Origin clash, alongside All-Stars ruckman Scott Lycett, and admits one budding youngster could count himself slightly unfortunate to miss out.
“Maybe Connor (Rozee) would be a little bit unlucky,” he added.
“But there’s so many great players across the competition. It certainly would have been a really hard job for selectors and there’s always going to be a few that are unlucky.”
