Report: Blues veteran replaces gun Lion in All-Star squad

Carlton small forward Eddie Betts has been called up to the All-Stars’ squad for Friday night’s State of Origin bushfire relief match.

According to, Betts will replace Brisbane captain Dayne Zorko who has withdrawn after pulling up sore from Sunday’s Marsh series hit out against Port Adelaide.

Zorko is still expected to play in the Lions’ second Marsh Series game against the Blues on March 8.

Betts is the third player to receive a late call up ahead Friday’s clash after Travis Boak and Andrew Gaff replaced Robbie Gray and Ben Cunnington in Victoria’s squad.

The 33-year-old re-joined Carlton from Adelaide in the off-season and has booted 600 goals in 316 games.
